Community Guidelines

Effective 9 October 2026

REVNET LTD · Effective: 9 October 2026 · Version 1.7 (9 October 2026)

What changed in 1.7. SOS now works through a private chat with each helper, so the rules on turning up to an SOS and on sharing locations now say what a helper actually receives.

These Guidelines form part of our Terms of Service. They exist partly because the Online Safety Act 2023 requires us to be clear about what we do not allow and how we deal with it, and partly because a community works better when everyone knows where the line is.

The short version

RevNet is for people who like cars and bikes. Be the sort of person other members are glad turned up.

What RevNet is for

Finding roads worth driving. Meeting people who care about the same things. Getting help when you break down, and helping when someone else does. Buying and selling. Showing off your build. Getting a stolen bike back.

How old you have to be

You must be 16 or over to have a RevNet account. Buying and selling in the Marketplace is 18 or over. We ask you to confirm both, and we close accounts we find that belong to someone under 16.

If you are under 18, read the last point under "Things that are not against the rules" before you arrange to meet anyone.

What gets you removed

Dangerous driving content. No racing on public roads. No street takeovers. No filming speedometers at three figures. No burnouts, donuts or wheelies on the public highway, and no footage of them. A road being fun is not an invitation to drive like an idiot on it.

Driving badly in a convoy. A convoy is a group of people going the same way, not a formation and not a race. Do not tailgate to keep up. Do not follow someone through a junction, a light or a gap because the map shows them ahead of you — the app does not know what is coming the other way and you do. Do not block roundabouts or junctions to keep the group together. If you lose the group, you lose the group; they will wait. Anyone driving in a way that puts other members or other road users at risk is removed.

Misusing SOS. SOS is for someone who is genuinely stuck. Do not raise one as a joke, a test, or a way of getting attention. Every alert pulls real people away from what they were doing and towards a stranger at the roadside, and a scene that turns out to be something else entirely is how members stop responding to the ones that are real.

Turning up to an SOS with bad intentions. Offering a hand at an SOS can get you the exact location and phone number of someone alone, often at night, often unable to drive away, if they choose to send them to you. Anyone using that to threaten, rob, harass or intimidate is removed permanently and reported to the police. There is no second view of this.

Behaviour that gets meets shut down. Most meets happen somewhere that tolerates them. Revving in a residential car park at 11pm, blocking a business's entrance, leaving litter, refusing to go when asked — that ends the meet for everyone, permanently. Do not be the reason.

Selling tickets you do not honour. If you charge for an event, list it accurately, run it as described, and stick to the refund policy you chose. Cancelling occasionally is life — weather, a venue pulling out. Repeatedly cancelling events you have taken money for, or not turning up to one, is taking people's money for nothing and gets you removed.

Be straight about how people pay. If you sell tickets through RevNet, do not ask members to pay you another way — no bank transfers, no payment by message. If your tickets are sold somewhere else, say so on the listing and show the price people will actually pay (Terms, clause 13.4H).

Harassment. No abuse, threats, stalking, pile-ons, or following someone around the app. This includes turning up somewhere because you saw where someone was.

Doxxing. Do not post anyone's home address, phone number, workplace, registration or precise location without their consent. This includes "name and shame" posts about a seller, a driver or a neighbour.

Sharing your OWN location through a feature built for it is not doxxing — a convoy, your location or number sent in an SOS chat, or a one-off location share in a message. Those are yours to share, they go only to people you choose, and you can stop them at any time. Sharing someone ELSE's is, including a screenshot of where their convoy pin was, or a location or phone number they sent you in a chat.

Hate. Nothing targeting people for race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or nationality.

Scams and fraud. No fake listings, no items you do not have, no bait-and-switch, no payment requests for something the buyer has not seen, no advance-fee arrangements.

Stolen goods. Do not list anything stolen, or anything you have reason to think might be. Do not list a vehicle with undisclosed outstanding finance.

False stolen-vehicle reports. Reporting a vehicle you do not own, or a vehicle that has not been stolen, publishes a real person's registration to the internet as a suspected criminal. It can be a criminal offence, and we will close your account and cooperate with the police.

Anything involving children. No sexual content involving anyone under 18, no grooming, no content that sexualises or endangers a child. We report this to the authorities without exception.

Illegal items. No weapons, no devices for defeating vehicle security, no cloned keys, no mileage-correction devices sold for unlawful use, no emissions-defeat devices for road cars.

Spam. No unsolicited commercial messages, no mass-posting, no using RevNet to advertise something unrelated.

Fake reviews. Do not review your own business, a competitor, or somewhere you have not dealt with. Do not pay for reviews or post one you were paid for, and businesses must not offer anything in return for a review or for changing one. One review per member for each business, place or route. We remove reviews we reasonably believe are fake, and may restrict or close the accounts behind them.

Impersonation and false claims. Do not pretend to be someone else. Do not claim a business, club, place or event you do not run or are not authorised to act for, and do not send us a photograph you do not have the right to use.

Things that are not against the rules but are worth saying

Modified exhausts. Legal is legal. But be aware that noise is the single most common reason a venue stops hosting a meet, and that a lot of the exhausts sold as road-legal are not.

Photographs at meets. You will end up in other people's photos and they will end up in yours. Blur other people's plates where you can. If someone asks you to take a photo down, take it down.

Private clubs. Content in a private club can be screenshotted. Do not post anything there you would mind seeing elsewhere.

Helping at an SOS. Members who respond to an SOS are volunteers. They are not a recovery service, not obliged to come, not obliged to stay, and not obliged to be any good at it. Nobody owes you a rescue, and nobody who turns out owes you a repair. Be grateful for whoever turns up, and if nobody does, that is why you carry breakdown cover as well.

Meeting people. Most of RevNet ends with meeting someone in person — at a meet, on a drive, to view a car, or when someone comes to help you at the roadside. Tell someone where you are going. Meet somewhere public where you can. Leave if you are uncomfortable. This applies to everyone, and especially if you are under 18.

Listings added by RevNet

Some events, places and businesses on RevNet are added by us from information published by the organiser, the business or the venue, so members can find them in one place. We add them carefully, but details change — check with the organiser or venue before you travel or pay. If one is yours, claim it in the app or email legal@revnet.club to correct it or have it removed.

Some photographs are openly licensed and credited to the people who took them; the full list is at revnet.club/credits.

Reporting

Every piece of content and every profile has a report button. Use it. You can also email legal@revnet.club.

We read every report. We do not tell you what action we took against another member.

If something is urgent — someone is in danger, a child is at risk, or a crime is happening — contact the police first, then tell us.

What happens when we act

Depending on what has happened, we may:

  • remove the content
  • restrict a feature
  • suspend the account
  • close the account permanently
  • report to the police or another authority

We act faster and harder on anything involving safety, children, fraud, or a risk to someone who is not a RevNet member.

How we moderate

  • A filter on public text. Listings, events, clubs, posts, comments, reviews, usernames and bios are checked when you save them. If they contain a slur or the worst kinds of abuse, they are not saved, and you will see: "This contains language that isn't allowed on RevNet." The list is short on purpose, so ordinary motoring words are never caught; everything else is handled by reports.
  • Private messages are not filtered, but you can report any message by pressing and holding it. Our moderators then see that message and the few before it, and nothing else in the conversation.
  • Reports. Every profile and every piece of public content has a report button. A person reviews every report. We aim to look at reports within 48 hours, and at anything about someone's safety or a child as soon as we see it.
  • Blocking. You can block anyone from their profile, a message thread, a comment or a review, and manage the list in Privacy & safety settings.
  • Business listings are checked before they go live, usually within two working days. Everything else is published straight away and moderated after.
  • Removal. We remove content and restrict or close accounts that break these Guidelines, as set out above. You can appeal.

Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, email legal@revnet.club. A person will look at it again. Tell us what happened and why you think the decision was wrong.

Changes

We update these Guidelines as the community grows and as we learn what actually goes wrong. The current version is always here with the date it took effect.
